Friedman's analysis is one of the best I have seen written by an American on the current situation in Egypt. He goes below the surface religious/secular divide and observes things all parties in Egypt had better start noticing before it is too late. It is fast becoming too late.
There is a third force not mentioned by Friedman that will force the political revolution to bloodshed. That force is hunger. The economy is collapsing as people fear doing anything.
